SO, I finally got something to support myself. $8.20 /hr as a cashier at the Neighborhood Walmart on Saren Dr. Even though it’s Walmart I’m super excited, I’m starting at the third pay grade!

I did my drug test today and should start work sometime this week (Wednesday-ish).

All I can say is, YAY!!!!!!!! Hope it’s not as bad as people say it will be.

Had an Interview

I had an interview with UPS today, I’m not getting a job with them (right now) but it may be good for the long term. The HR guy is in the process of opening a recording studio and said he could use some graphic design work. This is real world, after school type networking. I wasn’t expecting that, at all.

On the up side, I could get a graphics design gig going. That would be nice, yeah……..

Such An Awesome Birthday!

I had a lot of fun for the things planned Friday, not so much on my actual Birthday. We did nothing yesterday! :(

It was very exciting on Friday. We ate at Columbia's, went to the theater, then followed up with Deja Vú and Kings at Olivia's.

Columbia's tasted delicious, and you can't argue with a $12 Night-hawk special. LOL

We saw "Monsters vs. Aliens," and I can't recommend that to anyone in good concience! It was so bad.

That night was great and made up for yesterday, hopefully tomorrow (today) will be more ethusing.

Spring Break Plans

So in leu of taking the requisite trip to Florida for Spring Break, Kim and us guys have decided to take a road trip to Toronto. Kim would bring a girl-friend, and we'd make several stops to and back from there. We need to keep planning and so forth to get everything down before finalizing, but I'm soooo excited! :)

iPhone still not here...

I don't know what AT&T's problem is. My phone shipped Thursday evening and made it to Lexington by noon on Friday but with the wrong address. It was returned to the sender and now a whole pallet of iPhones are in Texas just chilling.

Worst thing is when I call them they don't answer. I left a nasty message for them the last time I called. I'm leaving tomorrow so I won't get it anytime soon, or so it seems. :(

L-ville Apple Store

After much looking and waiting, mom and I are going to Louisville to pick up and 8Gb iPhone 3G. We're leaving at 7 and I need to call the Oxmoor store at 9 when we get to Lexington, that way we don't make and unnecessary trip.

I already have enough money put away for a new iPhone 3G, very cool.

Things are going well, I've been on "vacation for the last week and a half. Today I wired a hanging lamp, I'm very proud of myself. I've spruced up the room with the paper hanging lamp, a spider plant, and general aesthetic additions.

I'm currently continuing to clean up and also preparing my iTunes for the iPhone. I have to rearrange the music and put art to it all. Awesome!

It's been a while

I know I said I would post more often, and it's been a month and a half. I've been busy though. The meds are pretty sweet, every side effect I had is gone (except it is harder to ejaculate but that's a good thing if I were actually seeing anyone). I'm currently reading "The Places that Scare You" at the suggestion of my therapist, she thinks I should learn to acknowledge my feelings. I apparently let things slide to often when I'm not really letting them go. I should realize my emotional state, and apparently a 20 minute meditation per day, as well as things taught in this book should help me.

I'm feeling pretty dang good right now; I have a bit of money in my pocket, working for housing over the summer, playing catch-up with online classes (starting in three weeks) and looking for another summer job with food services ($7 /hr plus a free meal with every four-hour shift). I was told to separate myself from the source of mental anguish (my family) and I'm incrementally doing so. I'll be living with Dan in the fall, 201 Kirwan III, and maybe Karam will be my RA--that would be sooooo cool! I haven't felt this good in so long, I've missed it so much...

Now I have Twitter updates, yay!

Easter

Well, it's that superbly un-special holiday today. I stayed with Karam last night (which is a whole story unto itself) so I had a fun morning. I dressed up last night because I didn't know what was going to happen when, etc. Well I get up and leave at noon today, the Catholic Center is across the street, and everyone looks great. I still look good (great in fact) except my hair is super-disheveled. I look like a homeless person who dressed up for Catholic Easter. lol

So that's my story for today. I'm hungry and my uncle hasn't returned my call, so off the Blazer!

Back from Spring Break

Witten and I had a bit of a falling out. It's in the process of mending, but I still don't know if I would live with them. TV buying is probably out of the question too.

He let into Dan which I didn't like, Dan is really like a little brother. That set me off. But no more about that... SMASH IS OUT IN A FEW HOURS!

Mario Galaxy - Is this a joke?

On the back of the Super Mario Galaxy case we have a synopsis presented in three languages (French, Spanish, and English). Right next to the picture illustrating Mario using the bumblebee suit, we have the Spanish. Another friend who was in the car for the opening noticed it, and said, "Is this a Simpson's reference?" He made a good point, and of course we all laughed, but is it I ask?

Update: In the process of posting I noticed that it wasn't Spanish next to the picture, it's French. My friend is retarded.

Super Mario Galaxy Rocks... and such

Witten bought the game Monday evening around 5. By dinner time the same night (about 7:30) we had 20-some stars. Co-op is useful, I think so cause I've mostly been doing it that way. I don't mind; I get to see the game in action and the team effort is good.

I have a picture to post as soon as I take it, funny little joke on the back of Galaxy's box.

We (I) held a party for Karam on Saturday (the 'poster' is below), his birthday was yesterday. Happy 21st! :) He is ever more occupied and I think he'd rather be with his Honor's/Physics buddies than all of us sometimes. It's just a feeling.

I cut Witten's hair today, it was very random for him to ask me to do it. I think I did a decent job though.

On a final note... Each time I think about this blog I feel really bad about mouthing off against people, especially Witt. He can be a bit much sometimes but I shouldn't have been so eager to just be an ass about him. I have no clue what made him extra cranky nearly a month ago, it lasted long enough to singe my last nerve though. Beyond that vainer of his, he's a pretty great guy.

I've also been playing with Leopard text look-a-likes. Peace.

October 26th marks the release date for OS X 10.5 Leopard. This alone is big news, and I can't wait till the Mac Labs on campus adopt it (which seems like it'll be a week afterwards if the arrival of iWork/iLife '08 is any clue). The thing is, everyone who buys a copy of Leopard gets a free t-shirt; I want a t-shirt.

How sad is that?

Thinking About Macs Again

I really want an iMac. I really want a flat panel TV. Then it came to me, why not a $450 Olevia, then get an $800 Mac Mini (1.8 GHz, 1GB RAM, wireless keyboard and mouse, etc.) and then an eyeMac for $150. The Mini effectively becomes a media center for the 27" television.

The eyeTV is a great tool! You can use it with any Apple computer (running OS X of course) and play, record, pause--just like a DVR-- with full Front Row integration. You can take a peak here. It's so awesome, I'll plug it all day long.

I got the idea after reading http://homepage.mac.com/chamady/MacMiniReview/. I of course will have updated hardware, but still the same price as an iMac; $1200 for my proposed setup, $1200 for the base unit (2 GHz, 1GB RAM, better graphics card, wired keyboard/mouse and a 20" screen). I think I'll do the former, but the latter has a bit more powerful).

New Smash Bros. Character

The new character, "Lucas" could be very cool. Ness is an odd but very good character to play as, I only wish Lucas has the abilities of Ness minus the quirky movement.

Well, I knew I had a batch of exams coming up; Art critique, critique write-up, and an Art History exam--coupled with a stack of "tasks" like finding a job--but this week also has a Logic exam, which everyone always looks forward to, right?

Today I discovered new software while trying to make an info page for possible employers. This is from evil M$, it's called "Live Writer" and it posts to all sorts of blogs and if you use Microsoft Live Spaces (surprise!) it lets you edit pretty much everything really.

I use Blogger so I can only post without logging in and I'm missing half of the fun stuff. Yay, basically useless software!!! :)

Crazy UK Drunks

Every night when someone leaves from Witten's I say, "Be careful, don't get raped!" It's a cruel joke, but when am I ever nice? Well tonight I was almost assaulted, all in good fun of course, but I think it's pretty funny that I shouted my phrase just five minutes beforehand.

I was a measly 100 ft. from my front door (I had just crossed Maxwell) when a Jeep full of frat guys thought I was their buddy were about to "kidnap" me before they realized that I wasn't their buddy. They stopped then the drunkest shouted, "We were going to kidnap your ass! We thought you were Brent!"

I had a good laugh thinking about the situation a little further; what if they had drug me into their SUV before they realized the mistake? I just find that hilarious!

It's Late and I'm Lazy

It's no secret that I'm lazy, or should I say that I like to procrastinate? Either way, I don't get a lot accomplished. Being an art major means that most of the time I don't have homework, for weeks on end, which most people would be exuberant about--but not me!

Having a lax schedule means that I don't a tight ship. If something needs to be done I usually have extended amounts of time to accomplish it. This mentality leads to the same attitude about everything I need a change!

So things that must be done this week (most of which, today);

Finish Resume
Write Cover Letters
Apply for Mac Lab Position
Apply for other Jobs when finished with tasks 1&2
Clean up art stuff
Study
Work on Art project

I must succeed!!!! A lot depends on how well I manage these tasks, so I aim to do them well and promptly--just as soon as I get up in the morning (and that's where things start off on the wrong foot).

37... or should I say "Cameron?"

It seems that good buddies, Anthony and Witten, are trying to decided whether they want to keep the cat they've had for a month now. Witten doesn't like the 37 (which is its name) but Karam said he loved it. The cat wants to escape their prison of an apartment constantly and she's much too hyper for Witten.

The problem is Anthony is never there, meaning the cat doesn't respond well to him (even though he's the owner and the one hoping to keep it). Witten believes it's an outside cat (which it may very well be, it was possibly outside for two months before they received it), and the girl who gave it to them was trying to get rid of it because "[her] cat's [didn't] like it," which is never a good sign.

I told them that spading her would probably fix her tendency to be hyper. She just needs a bit more equality in raising; Karam needs to be more stern with 37 (on top of actually just being there) and Witten needs to be more caring for the cat (as he's pretty lame to it most of the time).

9/11 - How do I feel?

It's that special time of year where America remembers one of the worst incidents to occur inside of our country. Most people go into a nostalgic glaze when thinking about today, I'm not one of them.

September 11th, 2001... I was in French class bored to tears when the PA told the whole school to flip on the news. I thought, "Yay, something not work!" Fire, ash, screaming, praying; HYSTERIA ALL DAY LONG! I understand how disturbing it should be/was, but I was perfectly calm. My mom was in Kent (South East UK) at the time and the cross-Atlantic separation didn't daunt me, but my sister was a different story. My Step-Dad had to send her to my Grandma's because he couldn't handle her.

It's so odd to be like that, and six years after the fact I don't have any strong feeling about today. Apathy is a horrible beast; I know I should feel something and I don't, but I also don't care as much about that as I should.
